Admission Requirements

Phlebotomy technicians are critical team members in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories and blood donor centers. As new types of tests are developed and laboratory tech positions grow, it's an especially exciting time to begin a career in this thriving field.  The Phlebotomy technician course will teach students how to collect blood for testing purposes. You will be able to identify medical terminology to relate to areas of the clinical laboratory and describe the basic functions of each main body system. Additionally, you will learn the veins or the arms, hands, legs, and feet on which phlebotomy is performed and the proper infection control to maintain safety in the laboratory.  Upon completion, the graduate is eligible to take the National Certification Exam offered by National Healthcareer Association.

  • Must be at least 18 years old    
  • Able to read, write, and speak English.    
  • Able to provide proof of education (minimum 8th grade education).     
  • Have a government approved form of photo identification and social security card.     
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Classes are twice a week from 6:00pm-9:30pm    
  • See the Academic Calendar for Start Dates and Enrollment Dates (dates and times are subject to change due to inclement weather or holidays).  
  • Changes to the class schedule will be discussed during class orientation at the beginning of each course.

Graduates will the ability to attend job fairs offered at the school and be notified of job openings available.
